BarbLock®'s
ability to seal and retain is directly affected by the amount of compression it
exerts on tubing, hose, and barbed fitting assemblies. The amount of compression
is determined by calculating the delta between the Collet's retainer ring/Collet's
bore and the assembled lumen (Tubing or hose) and barbed fitting. The durometer
of the hose or tube its composition and the size, shape, and composition
of the barbed fitting also affect the amount of compression that BarbLock®
assemblies are able to exert. The BarbLock® Corporation must be consulted
when matching BarbLock® Retainers to tubing, hose, and barbed fittings
for any applications due to the wide variety of barbed fittings i.e., single
tier and multi tier, and the hose and tube's outside and inside diameters, materials,
and their durometers. The BarbLock® Corporation offers an upfront service
to match the customer’s assembly to the correct BarbLock® Retainer,
free of charge. Under no circumstances should BarbLock® Retainers be
used in any pressure application without The BarbLock® Corporation
documented testing and written consent. |
